Changing foster care one child at a time
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress . . . James 1:27
Real Numbers show that about 24% of all foster homes care for about 74% of all foster children. That means more than half of all foster children live in a foster home with 3 or more OTHER foster children.
Over 50% of all foster children under the age of 13 live in 5 or more different foster homes while in foster care. Of ALL new foster parents 50% quit before the end of their first year and 90% quit before the end of the second year. The number 1 reason given for quitting is lack of support.
The best way to keep foster children from moving from foster home to foster home is to take good care of the people taking care of them. There are lots of ways to do this and research shows that when foster parents have community support they remain foster parents longer and provide a more stable environment for foster children.
